Very recently, a Darko Milicic led Serbian national team lost to Greece in a close contest, 68-67, in EuroBasket 2007. Apparently, Darko Milicic was not pleased with the referees.
Here is the youtube clip of his post-game tirade, all in Serbian. We Suck At Sports happens to have a friend who speaks Serbian. You'll find the full translation of his video interview in all its expletive glory below:

Previous blogs had translated his words to say "I will murder the referees", but this apparently is false. The raping of the daughters comment, however, is true.
According to our translator, the whole "I will fuck his mother's pussy" is a common insult lobbed in Serbia, and isn't AS bad as it sounds in English. Whether that makes his interview any easier to accept is another issue.

In his defense, there may be cultural differences in the language that don't make it as bad as it sounds.....
However, if he wants to play in the U.S. and make an NBA salary, those cultural differences are his to resolve, not as an excuse for terrible behavior.

Well I am from Serbia and I have to say that Darko's outburst, although extremely insulting, is not really about rape. Saying things like "I'll fuck your mother" is a common insult here, like saying motherfuckers in English, you are not really accusing anyone of having sex with his mother, it's just an insult. So Darko is not a maniac, he is just very, very angry. Of course, no one should ever behave like that and I am not trying to justify his behavior, just put it in proper context.
Who said anything about raping omg.. Fuck your mother's pussy is a common thing in Serbia.. almost like saying hi.. (actually sometimes its used with no reason at all).. I dont understand why everyone is so baffled by his interveiw.. its a little bit harsh for the international tv but he is actually just talking like he would if he was in Serbia..

I agree, you can't generalise an entire culture based on one person. Also, to the person that asked if the Serbs stay bugger one another's mums all day long, you are clearly missing what has been repeated several times - it's a common insult in Serbia, not an action or plan of action. Some people hear what they want to hear and interpret it according to their own biases and presuppositions. If that's the way you roll, God help you.
