Jason Garrett is en fuego

Hey everyone, there's an offensive coordinator, a genius, a man shooting up the ranks up for grabs. The highest bidder gets the services of this one-year offensive coordinator and a child prodigy for however long you have the patience to keep him.

I have nothing against Jason Garrett, I'm sure he's a great guy. And he's doing nothing wrong by entertaining offers from Baltimore, and likely Atlanta, traveling all over the place, being a gun for hire. In the middle of that, he's got the most aggressive and possessive owner in all the NFL, Jerry Jones, willing to match any salary to keep him in Big D. As long as people want him, he's doing exactly the right thing: trying to get the best offer for him; not for Dallas, not for Baltimore, not for Atlanta.

But, to the Ravens, and consequently a huge CC to the rest of the coaches: Didn't the Ravens just recently part with an offensive genius that couldn't do the one thing he was brought there to do? Now, Brian Billick won a Superbowl, and I don't want to belittle that, but during is tenure, this offensive mastermind has leaned on his defensive assistants (Ryan, Nolan, Lewis) for wins, and the offensive has been historically terrible. There's more stories like this, where a coach that's a star defensive and offensive assistant gets a head coaching job and it is the part they specialize in that suffers (see Lewis, Marvin).

All things considered, Jason Garrett could be the next Bill Belichick, but he could also be the next Cam Cameron. However, there's only one Bill Belichick running around, but a litany of coaches whose careers have looked a lot like Camerons', plus or minus 4 losses.
