Lute Olson, still a dirty old man
When the Lute Olson first thing came up nearly a half year ago, he was taking time off for an undisclosed reason. Some thought health problems, but it turned out to be a very private divorce proceeding, something that didn't sit very well with me, as you may remember. If you don't want to read what I wrote then, the issue I had with it, is that he was getting divorced from his second wife of 4 years and taking time off, but didn't when his wife of 47 years died of cancer. Let bygones be bygones. But he's back. This time, the once sympathetic oligarch of the Arizona basketball program comes off as a dirty old man, something I pointed out back then. Now, to be fair, he hasn't been convicted of anything, but the allegations themselves sound pretty astounding. And these things don't come out of nowhere.
Allegations that Lute Olson improperly transferred all the money from a financial account he shared with his estranged wife, combined with a dispute over a prenuptial agreement, potentially could turn the Arizona basketball coach's divorce into a nasty battle.
Olson, who took a leave of absence this past season, last week was ordered to appear May 7 before Judge Sarah Simmons of Pima County Superior Court after he allegedly transferred the couple's money into his personal account, according to court records.
This is going to stay very public, because, well, he's a very public figure. And personally, I want to know more about the situation, if they'll ever get into detail. I do know that doing some quick searches on the former Christine Olson, that she's insanely rich, much richer than even this gray haired basketball coach, and as the article states, they did sign a prenuptial agreement.
This is just another incident in a line of actions by Olson that have always rubbed me the wrong way. I don't know him personally, and I don't care to, maybe he's a great guy. But with these things brought into the light, it certainly disgraces his legacy, even if it is just allegations.

So even if these are just allegations, it will still hurt his legacy...probably because knee jerk reactionary bloggers and columnists will never retract statements like "Lute Olson, still a dirty old man."

Those dirty Cats get what they deserve. Their corrupt basketball team is on their way down and Lute is the captain. I saw Lute speak at a convention a month before this hit the papers. He brought the love of his life up on stage and said what a wonderful marriage he had. She even spoke a little about how she runs her multi billion dollar company. They seemed sooo happy together. What a joke! Uof ehh will not recover. Lute, I hear Acapulco is nice right about now.

Lute took his leave of absence due to issues with depression, which were likely brought on by a stroke he suffered sometime in the last year.
You obviously know nothing of Lute and his marriage with Bobbi Olson. She was his world and you should be ashamed of yourself for sticking your nose where it doesn't belong, especially when everything you're saying is just a bunch of hot air, unathenicated and completely invalid.
It is alright to hate another school, but when you cross the line to hating people you don't know, it becomes pathetic. I hope this isn't how you live the rest of your life. Shame on you.
